Textile Industry – Was the works Manager and then Executive Director of Abirami Cotton Mills P. Ltd., Sullurpetta, Nellore Dist. ., Andhra Pradesh, till 1993 – A 25,000 spindle textile spinning mills where many innovations and expansions happened under his leadership. This unit was established by his father Sri.V.S.Sivalingam Chettiar in 1964.
Plantations – Was Partner, and then Managing Partner of VR.KR.S. Firm, No. 5, Jalan Patani, Kualakangsar, Perak State, Malaysia till 1993. This plantation was established in 1894 by Grand Father Sri. Chettiappa Chettiar and had an extent of about 500 acres of rubber plantation and around 200 small houses rented out.
